SUGGESTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING
AND UPDATING - The download package now contains ALL the necessary files. - All the program files can be downloaded individually. One can check the list of 15 files given in the documentation, and check to see which ones are needed. For updates, one simply checks the date/time stamp of the file to see if it has been updated. - For bug corrections of a specific version, one needs only to update the small "riyal32.Exe". This is "the heart" of Riyal and contains all the bug corrections. Bugs and updates are documented in the progress page. - Updating only "riyal32.exe" will not work if other essential files have been modified (e.g. if new lines have been added to the configuration file, or new bodies are added to the ephemeris files). In those cases you need to update those files too. - Every time I add a new feature, a ".1" is added to the version. Orbital updates and collected bugs are treated as ".01", isolated bugs as ."001". - The version of the program can be checked right-clicking on the "riyal32.exe" file, and choosing "Properties --> Version". The current version is 3.9.9.0 |
